There's been lots going on in the world of computing eh?  Barton, GFFX, and the recent NDA lifting of the 9800 Pro!  I gotta say that 9800 Pro looks delicious!  Can't wait to get myself one of those!  nVidia, if you're reading this, you guys need to get a move on it!  What are you thinking?!

I also want to note that in less than two weeks I'll have a Soltek nFORCE2 guide up, with voltage mods hopefully included and in a few days I'll have a Turbo Cool 510w power supply guide up as well!  Now, what do I have for you today?  I've got a nice guide on how to modify your Asus A7N8X Deluxe to squeeze out every bit of performance you can from the poor board! :P  Be sure to check that out!  I've got a 2800+ Barton coming to me tomorrow as well.  Can't wait to get that and see what it's capable of!

I got lots of helpful emails with suggestions and comments on the Cryo Freezer Project.  Thanks alot!  I have done some updates to the site today including fixing some broken links, updating the 4200 volt mod guide, the 4600 volt mod guide, and I've also added an Enermax EG465AX-VE (W)FCA power supply volt mod guide!  So make sure you check those guides out ;)

I've got a nice article for you today.  It's part 1 of Project Cryo Freezer!!  I've been playing with the Gemini Cool blocks and so far they're really nice.  I will have the CPU cooler review up in a week or so, followed by the GPU block reviews.  There is much more lined up for the month of Feburary and March here on Maximum OC so watch for it!  Thank you for your continued support!

I have just been informed that Gemini Cool will be releasing some new waterblocks and I must say these blocks are looking AMAZING!  I had seen pictures of them before as they were being developed but now, the finished product blew me away!  These blocks are not released yet, but will be very soon, and I'll also be reviewing a few different blocks right here on Maximum OC.  I'll put em through torture I tell you!  Look for em @ Gemini Cool.

There hasn't been much going on recently, but I have been playing w/ my Dell 19" LCDs and they're working really nice!  I did also play around with a KD7 recently and got it up to 221mhz fsb ;)  As the picture states I also have a stick of Kingston HyperX pc3500 memory.  This stuff is great and I plan on doing a comparison review against some Crosair mem as soon as I have a motherboard that can handle high mem speeds.  Also, I wanted to let everyone know that yes I broke 1 mill hits by New Years!  I was hoping for XMAS but oh well ;)  Thanks again for your support!

Now, for the important news!  Tonight I will be posting (I have it all ready to go) a huge guide written by my friend RoydRage on how to build a Lian-Li Prometeia system!  Check up tonight @ around 2-3PM EST for the full guide!

I updated the setfsb page with 5 new setfsb versions for new chipsets and motherboards.  You can snag those files here.

I have put up a review of the Asus nFORCE2 based motherboard, the A7N8X.  It sums up all my findings after using it for 2 weeks or however long it's been.  I've included the voltage mod for it in the review as well!  I'd also like to note that instead of doing a review of individiual processors I'm going to do a Thoroughbred processor round up coming up soon which will include 1600+, 1700+, 2400+, and 2600+ AMD procs.  I also have received my Dell 1900FP 19" LCDs and am working on that.  My cryofreezer is also moving along--I have the pump in my hands, I have the cryofreezer IN my house, and now I've got to clean it up and get some juice in it.  Sadly nothing came about with the LN2 cooling but I'm still working on it!  And also I was not the first to hit 3ghz, a Japanese fellow has beat me to it :(  I guess now my goal would be to be the first American to hit 3ghz on an AMD :)  We'll see...  I should have a promise sx-4000 review up shortly.  Sadly the 4-channel bit didn't work out for a 4-channel raid 0 config, but 2 sets of 2 drive raid 0 is working great!  Anyway, thanks for all the comments guys and I'll continue working away to get this site filled with content!

On a slightly different note.  If you're down for some counter-strike action please give the ChuChuRockets Clan CS server a shot!  I'm a member of [chu^2] myself and it's a really great server.  You can often find me in there ;)  The ip is 216.127.66.33:27015 and it's 24/7 dust, aztec, dust2 ;)  You can't get better than that now can ya?

Lots of exciting things going on!  What with the release of the 1700+ tbred, and the 2400+, and now today the 2600+ and 2700+ (in stock @ newegg) there has been a huge surge of overclocking mayhem on the AMD side.  I just ordered myself a 2600+ and should have it Tuesday or Wednesday.   I've been kind of out of it (working on my site that is) in October due to a lot of stuff I had to do.  I'll leave it at that. :P  Sorry bout that but I'll be putting it in overhaul the next few weeks.  Some things I have planned... my new workstation project article, 4200 and 4600 articles, 1600+, 1700+, 2400+, and 2600+ thoroughbred overclocking articles, xms3500 review, promise sx4000 review, and lastly and most importantly... I have a goal.  I am striving to be the first person to achieve 3ghz with an AMD computer.  I am going to be picking up a good amount of LN2 soon, and with my LN2 tank I'm shooting for some big goals.  I've got the ram, I'll have the CPU, the LN2 tank, and mobo by Friday.  Hopefully next Saturday some records are gonna be broken!!!

In other news, for those of you following my cryofreezer project.  It will be in my house in about a week as well.  Who knows, maybe that will get me to 3ghz.  Time will tell.  I have decided to go with a Velocity T4 pump.  It has titanium rotors and dividing walls and it can do 1225GPH @ 3 feet.  Looks like a real high quality pump.  Can't wait to test it out ;)  And speaking of water cooling while we're at it I picked up a Lytron 4121 G3 radiator off this great guy, Jon Mason.  If you're interested in one he is selling them for $80 + shipping.  Tell him Zack from @ Maximum OC sent ya ;)  How many he has, I don't know but I know he said that he does have more.  It's a real steal though, as someone told me that these things retail as a special order for like ~$900.

I'm also pleased to announce that Maximum OC has broken 500,000 hits and is steadily climbing and on Alexa I have found that my site has gone from the rank of ~ 3 million to 500,000 to 300,000 to ~200,000 now.  Again I'm really pleased!  For such a young site as this I feel it's rather impressive.  Thanks for your visits and feel free to put up a review on Alexa!

Been busy these past few days but I am working hard on getting actual pictures of the LN2 containers up as well as a page to order them.  GF4 cold plates are back in stock and now should work on all Ti4600 cards.  I also just used my 156w pelt + DD Slot block + GF3 Cold Plate.  But my 300w Enermax gave out on me mid-overclocking and I had to shut down.  I'll post results on the GF3 Cold Plate page when I get them--Just need to get a new PSU ;)

09.20.02 - ZACK
Posted two reviews; one review is of the Dell 1800FP LCD and the other is of the Epox 8K5A3+.  I got a bunch more stuff to review, so watch for me to be pumping em out!

09.19.02 - ZACK
The GF4 Cold Plates will be back in stock early next week.  I am now doing all my machining at a different metal shop and it's working out MUCH better than the old one.  Here's two pictures of the revised plates.  These were the first set of plates, run as a test, the retail thing will look better, and I'll put up more pictures of those, but still they look great!  Check out these things!

Friday the 13th!  WooOOOo!  I wanted to mention again that Liquid Nitrogen containers for AMD Socket 462 and Intel Intel Socket 478 based mobos are available.  Dry Ice containers are as well available.  Both are made to order and I'll have pictures of what it actually looks like soon.  Until then check this picture out to get an idea of what it'll look like.  My version of this will utilize the 4-holes on the motherboard using nuts/bolts/springs.

Also, I wanted to see what people think.  If I stocked prometeia's or the new "premium" vapochills would you be interested in one?  If you would be, then please drop me an email.  Nothing is set in stone, but I'm thinking about it.  I just want to see what kind of demand there would be for those types of products.  Thanks for your opinion!

Oh, and a message to AMD.  If you have a spare 2400+ or 2600+ feel free to send me an email.  I'd be more than happy to put it through some overclocking torture.  This simple formula shows what I'm getting at: Cryofreezer + AMD 2600+ = 3ghz

Another update... I have added the GF3 volt mod page to buy it, as well as the guide, I've added the gf4 volt mod page to buy it as well as the guide, I've added the guides page, I've added the "What is max oc?", and I've fixed up the graphics.  People were complaining they can't read the left side so I fixed that up.  I finally had an evening to do this and I'm glad I did.  The insulation page will be going up in the next day hopefully.  =D

Thought I'd do an update.  I've put up a page for anyone who is interested in downloading setFSB, a windows overclocking program. It's hard to find on the net so I thought mirroring all that I could find would be a good idea.

GF4 Cold plates are still under modification.  Site redesign is finished and all pages now work, even if they're out of stock!  Glad I got on with it! :)  So I hope everyone likes the new design.  I'll be working on a few reviews this week as well ;)

07.22.02 - ZACK
The GF4 Plates will be temporarily unavailable due to a slight modification to them.  GF3 plates are available still and the GF4 4200 plate is currently being worked on.  That should be ready in about a week or so.  GF3 voltage modification parts are now in stock as well!  GF4 voltage mod kits will be available quite soon.

In other news I plan on selling Liquid Nitrogen containers for AMD computers.  Interested in LN2 cooling?  I can make a container for you :)  If you're interested please email me.

07.16.02 - ZACK
Another update.  I received some voltage mod parts for the TI4600 and TI4200.  I will be testing them and making a guide.  If they work successfully, then I will put some up for sale.  Supplies will be limited at first though.  GF3 voltage mod parts will be coming in on Thursday/Friday and the guide will be going up tonight.

Thought I'd post another update.  There were a few bad images, a few typos, and such.  I've fixed all that were mentioned to me.  If you find any more errors please be a pal and email me and let me know ;)  Also added some images on the GF4 page.  And if anyone is interested in what's been going on leading up to the opening of my store and the word on the street about my plates, feel free to visit these forum threads.

The store is open, only the GF3 and GF4 plates will be available at the current time.  Voltage modification parts and insulation will be coming soon.  I got the plates 2 days ago and I checked them all out.  I don't know why, but most seem to have surface scratches of some kind.  Although visible, I do not believe they will cause any problems with heat transfer.  Pictures of the retail plates are on their respective pages.  I also put the plates on my PNY GF4 and my Visiontek GF3.  They all sit properly on the cards.  So, enjoy!  And if there is such a demand where I run out of plates, I will have a second run, so don't worry!

07.08.02 - ZACK

I felt that I should post at least something more than "coming soon" as so many people are looking and wondering.  Until the store is launched in where you can buy  everything, the links will not work above.  I will post when the store is open.  I will also have a section up where I'll be posting reviews and my comments on new hardware and cooling products.

Plates are extremely close to being finished.  The plates will be the only thing available at first, but I will have volt mod kits in a week or two along with insulation.  The store may grow in the future with more cooling parts, and some specialty items.  If you are interested in a cold plate for a specific card, and not necessarily a GF3/GF4 you're going to have to email me.  Custom cold plates will cost more, as they're one-of-a-kind.

I'm very excited about the opening of Maximum OC and hope that everyone will be able to get what they want.  But remember, there is a limited first run supply of 50 GF3 and 50 GF4 cold plates, so get your orders in quick when the doors open!

Lastly, I wanted to let everyone know that the GF4 TI4200 cold plates are being developed as we speak and I should have a prototype finished soon.  If there is great demand for these, I will produce them, but I can tell you that they will cost more than the current plates.  If you still want them though, let me know and I'll consider making a batch of 4200 plates.

DISCLAIMER:  Always use proper insulation when running a peltier in your computer.  If you do not, you risk harming or destroying your computer components.  Most likely
you will get condensation when running these cold plates.  If you fry any component in your computer, I am not responsible for it.  Please use caution!!!!!!!
